Passage Picker-Nahil

Passage Picks

1. "I killed him, he said slowly, I killed that boy." page 56 last paragraph

This passage explains that Johny the greaser had killed Bob the soc while Ponyboy was being drowned by the group of socs. I thought this was significant because it could play a key role in predicting Johny's actions later on.

2. "Hop the three-fifteen freight to Windrixville, Dally instructed." page 61 last paragraph

I chose this passage because it helped me make an inference that Dally had travelled similarly to what Johny and Ponyboy were about to do. This gave me an insight to Dally's past.

3. "Here!, Dally handed me a shirt about sixty-million sizes too big."

I chose this passage because it empha'sizes' how large the shirt was compared to Ponyboy. This helped me visualize the scene and scenario.

4. "The next four or five days were the longest days I've ever spent in my life."

This helped me feel/understand how Ponyboy felt at this point, very bored. This passage made me wonder if Johny was feeling the same way, or completely different.
