Passage Picker:


1.My first passage is when Ponyboy thought "I shouldn't be here, and Steve shouldn't be here, and Soda shouldn't be here, and Two-bit shouldn't be here, were greasers but not hoods, we don't belong here with this bunch of future convicts" before the rumble.

This is important to the story because Ponyboy believes that they shouldn't be there, like they're different from the others and they should have it better.He believes that they deserve it better because of how hard they work and mow close to a family they are.


2. My second passage is right before johnny died, he said "stay gold, ponyboy stay gold.."

This is important to the story because johnny a key part in the story has just died. His death caused many things afterwards as well such as dallys death. Also johnny made a reference to his favorite poem when he said that, i think he was telling ponyboy not to change anything about himself.


3.  My third Passage is when Ponyboy thought to himself "I knew he would be dead, because dallas winston wanted to be dead, and he always got what he wanted."


This is important to the story because dally, another important character in the story died.He died because he raised a gun at the police and they shot him, it had another devastating emotional effect on the gang, they were all emotionally unstable.
